We have a compassionate God!

86:15 Psalm “But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.” (NIV)

In the Psalms, King David spends time trying to find the words that describe what God has done for him and for God’s chosen people. He picks some great descriptive words… compassionate… gracious…slow to anger…abounding…love… faithfulness. Do any of those describe you? We are to follow the example that we have seen in Christ. We are to be an example of His love to the world. So, today and every day, let us be “abounding in love and faithfulness” to show that God is working in and through us. Be abounding!

PLEASE give this verse to all of your friends on social media and in your email lists. Ask what three words they would use to best describe their life. Ask what three words others would use to best describe their life. Listen to how they respond and any differences between how people view themselves and how others view them. Let them know the example that Christ gave for us to love and to forgive. Now, model that example in your life, too. As always, Take Time For God’s Word© throughout your day and as you see people who are compassionate and showing love to others, then think about this verse as “86:15” and praise God for His great love for you. Save a copy of this verse in your photos on your phone in the Favorite Verses album. Turn ‘wait time’ into ‘great time’ whenever you are in line or waiting your turn someplace, then review the verse cards and the many reminders of God’s love and of our calling to be that love in our world. Then be ‘abounding’ in love… be abundant in sharing… and be grateful for ALL that He has given to you and for your salvation. WOW! That’s is something worth telling others about!

Continue to pray for all of the seminaries and places that are training up the next generations of pastors, ministers, missionaries, and leaders of our churches and fellowship groups. We need more people who follow God’s calling to serve in these roles. Churches are closing because there aren’t enough pastors to fill the openings. Maybe it is affecting your church. Encourage our young people to serve God in such a role. Support those who are already in those roles. Let us ALL show loving care for those already serving us in such roles. Be that blessing to them as they are blessing others with God’s Word. Pass it on to our world by being ‘abounding in love and faithfulness’… just as God has shown for us each day.
