What are you thirsting for in life?

42:02 Psalm “My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?” (NIV)

Someone once told me about the rules of 3 in staying alive: Three minutes without air. Three days without water. Three weeks without food. Yet, we also need to be reminded that we are ALL only one heartbeat away from eternity… we are ALL just that close to meeting God. So, as thirst is something we need to take care of often each day, we should also thirst after His Word in our lives often each day. Using the ideas within Take Time For God’s Word can help you bring to mind His Living Water many times each day. ‘When you check the time, think of a verse’… any verse will be fine. He will use it to help guide you so that you will thirst for even more of Him!

Please route this verse to your family or friends, and co-workers in His kingdom by copying this blog or the link to this page. Ask what is the longest time they ever went without being able to drink water. Ask how that made them feel and what went through their mind as the time passed by. Share with them the Living Water that we have in Jesus Christ. Let them know that all who drink from it will have eternal life where we will thirst no more. Then Take Time For God’s Word© as you see a drinking fountain or bottles of water, then consider this verse as ’42:02’, and remember to treat His Word as a fountain of living water for your refreshment. This could be another math reminder of ‘4 minus 2 equals 2’ (42:02). As you see the numbers ‘4’ or ‘2’, you could think of this equation and then recall this verse. There are many organizations which promote digging wells to provide fresh water to those who have none readily available (e.g. Water.org). Still others provide copies of the Living Water found in the Bible (e.g. American Bible Society or Bible League International). These are all good and worthwhile missions and ministries to help and support those in need. Share in these or other similar ministries to be the blessing which others are praying for each day. You can do this. Pass it on through a cup of cold water or a well-chosen verse given to those who need it the most!

We turn our focused prayers going out for all of the Sunday School teachers and helpers at all levels of teaching and training in our churches and fellowship groups each Sunday. It is crucial to get our young children involved in Sunday School. They learn songs. They hear Bible stories. They even learn Bible verses. These will help them their whole life-long. What a great investment. Say ‘Thanks’ to the Sunday School teachers that you know. Encourage them. Help them. Let them know how much you appreciate their efforts. What a blessing it will be to them to know that others notice and care about them. Pass it on by being that cup of water or that cup of blessings given to others today!
