‘You cannot out-give God’… yet,it is sure fun trying! He loves such a generous heart. He loves to see His children be grateful for what they have received AND then gladly sharing those gifts with others. Giving does NOT mean that you will have less… it means that you are open to receive even more! As we know from Luke 6:38 “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.“ (NIV) Be known as a great giver… AND be a great forgiver along the way! You will be blessed beyond measure!
You can GIVE this verse to all of your family, friends, and neighbors… basically to everyone you know! Ask if they ever lend money and expect that it will NOT be repaid. Ask how they feel when someone takes advantage of them that way. Remind them that God gives generously to us and we are to share those gifts. When we hoard them up, it is like we are not repaying God’s blessings by passing them on. Share with them the great joys in giving. Don’t ‘give until it hurts’ (ouch)… give until it helps… others and helps you feel the joy. Be sure to Take Time For God’s Word© whenever you see someone giving to others, then think of this verse as ’37:21’, and praise Him for His gift of salvation to you. For my math friends out there, it is ‘3 times 7 equals 21’ (37:21) For the rest of us, it may be easier to put this as an Action Item on our phones for 7:21 am (to start the day) with ‘37:21 Psalm ‘godly generous givers’ ‘. It will bring to mind the whole verse but the call to action is to be a generous giver as that is what we need to recall. Then, we need to put that plan into action and give… a smile… a warm welcome… a kind word… a helpful hand… and a supportive prayer for someone. We ALL have something that we can give. Make it count for His kingdom each day. Follow His lead… give and it will be given to you!!
Please pray for all of the adoption service agencies around the country and especially Evangelical Child and Family Agency (Wheaton, IL) for their work to place children into loving families. What a great blessing they are to the mothers who are giving up their babies and to the couples who want children but who may be unable to have their own. We have seen this work blessings in families. We know what a blessing it is to us. Thank them. Support them. Encourage those families. Stay blessed in ALL that you do. Pass it on as a generous giver and as a GREAT for-giver!
