When we talk about the abundant life, we are not talking about ‘stuff’. Possessions are necessary up to a point and then they start to possess you… your thoughts… your time… your living space… and your life. Instead, we seek only those good things that are needed for life… real life that is lived for Jesus. We need to seek Him first and to give Him our lives so that He can give us only the good things that we need. Don’t mix up the needs and wants in life… focus on the needs. Then live life to the fullest in Him!
You can give this verse to friends and family by copying the blog or by sharing the link. Ask if they have a favorite possession and what it would be. Ask what it would take for them to part with that item. Listen carefully to their response. We often become attached to an item because of what it symbolizes… a gift from a loved one… a memory of a favorite place… an event that brought you closer together. Just know that only our love for Jesus will last into eternity. Plan accordingly. Please Take Time For God’s Word© whenever you start to feel hunger, then think of this verse as ’34:10’, and praise God for all the good things He has given to you. Take stock of all that you have. Determine if it were gone, what impact it would have on your life. We soon realize that we truly need very little. In fact, having less frees up our time and lives so that we can do even more. Don’t be held hostage by your possessions. Enjoy the simpler things in life and enjoy life in Him even more!
Focus your prayers today on specific missionaries that you know by name. Ask God to bless and keep them. Many live very simple lives on the mission field. Their attention is on sharing the love of God with the people around them. They live in the communities where they are serving. They trust that God will give them all that they need. He blesses them to be a blessing to others. We should do the same. Stay blessed. Pass it on so that many more will seek God and will lack no good thing!
