How do you wait upon the Lord?

27:14 Psalm “Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.” (NLT)

How long do you spend waiting each day… 10 minutes… 30 minutes… or is it hours? Too often we consider ‘wait time’ as ‘lost time’. I view it as ‘precious time’ because I then review prior verses… I spend time in prayer… and I can stop during a busy day to spend time with God. ‘Wait time’ can be great time! To ‘wait’ can also mean to serve (as ‘waiter/ waitress’). It reminds me that I am to serve others. It can be little things. It can be sharing His Word with them, which can be life-changing for them. So, use your ‘wait time’ effectively as God is preparing the next great thing in your life. It is always well worth the wait!

Copy this blog or the link to this post to give this verse to family and friends, near or far away. Ask if they are waiting for something special in their life right now. Ask what they do now while waiting for that day or event to happen. Tell them about how we wait for the Lord as He is helping us to develop deeper faith and patience in our waiting. Remember to Take Time For God’s Word© as you wait each day… ‘check the time, think of a verse’… or even verses like ‘27:14’, which are beyond our clock time but God is not bound by time. This may be simple math… 2 times 7 equals 14 (27:14). Maybe you associate ‘patience’ with ‘patients’ waiting in a doctor’s office (yes, we get lots of wait time there). You may set it as an alarm on your phone at 7:14 am with the title ‘27:14 Psalm Be brave and courageous…wait patiently’. It would be a great reminder to start each day. Make ‘patient waiting’ to be a part of your day and use that time to connect with God. He has great things planned for you… just wait and see!

Our prayers extend to all of the Christian colleges and universities around the country and around the world. What a blessing they are to their students, faculty, and communities. What a blessing those students are to their employers, families, churches, and the world. They should feel empowered to share the love of Christ in word and actions. They should know what it is to be blessed and to be a great blessing to others. Encourage them. Pray with and for those students. Stay well and stay blessed in all that you are doing… keep it up! Pass it on through patient acts of kindness and examples of His love.
