We have a lot to be humble about…

66:02 Isaiah “Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?" declares the LORD. "These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word.” (NIV)

We have reached the end of Isaiah. We have seen 77 verses that tell of promise and hope… rebellion and forgiveness…times of suffering and days of rejoicing. In this verse we are reminded again that God seeks for us to be humble before Him. When you truly consider the wonder and awesomeness of God and how small we are… we do have a lot to be humble about. Yet, God loves us and has called us by name to be His. That is a wonder too great for words. That is how I want to spend my days…thanking and praising Him for His great love!!

Copy this blog or the link to this post to give this verse to friends and neighbors. Ask if they have ever felt ‘contrite’ (remorse or grieving) over some sin or offense that they have done. Ask how that made them feel and what the did about it. It is not easy to talk about our ‘broken’ and ‘contrite’ spirit. It is often a low point in life. Yet, that is where we find God coming to fill us with His love and with hope and with joy. Tell them that God can heal ALL of their grief and sorrow. Pray for them. And always Take Time For God’s Word© as you recall verses of His grace, mercy, and peace. When you see someone who is humble or who is broken in spirit, think of this verse. Maybe you recall the ‘66’ books of the Bible… with Exodus as ’02’ (second book). You think of leaving your sins behind you as you show a contrite spirit. Then you will remember this verse (66:02). Be humble today. Give God all the praise and glory. It makes a world of difference… in you!

Our prayers today focus on friends and family. What a great blessing they can be to us throughout our lives. Some friends I haven’t seen for years. Yet, when we do meet, there is an instant bond and such great memories. Too often, we fail to let them know how much we love them. We don’t say ‘THANKS’ often enough. Do so today… and all week. We have SO MUCH to be thankful for. Thanksgiving should not just be a holiday in November… it should be the way that we live… everyday. Stay blessed in ALL that you do. Pass it on with thanksgiving and with a humble heart give thanks to God!
