In earlier verses, Isaiah was criticizing the people of Israel who would do one day of fasting and then go right back to their old, bad habits and ways. God emphasized that the changes were to last and to make a difference in their lives and in the lives of those around them. We are still called to make a difference. We are to recognize our blessings and share them with those of have needs. We don’t need to look far. They may be right next door. May God open your eyes to see and your heart to share His love… wherever it is needed!
Please remember to pass along this verse to friends and family. Ask if they have ever invited a hungry family to share a meal with their family. Ask if they have ever handed out bedding, warm clothes, etc. to the homeless. It is easier to put some money in an envelope and to mail it to some charity BUT it doesn’t have the same impact… on YOU! See the face of hunger, or homelessness, or helplessness. Then be the hands and feet of Christ to serve these people. Please Take Time For God’s Word© during each day by recalling a few key verses. Let those words help to motivate you and guide you. Let them spur you on to do good deeds and to be His love in action. I know that many of you live this way each day… THANK YOU! Be a blessing always. You are a living witness to His love!
Our prayers extend today to all of the seminaries and places of training for our clergy, missionaries, and church leaders. The tools that we use to share the Gospel may have changed but the message is still the same. Encourage those organizations to hold true to the message of salvation. God will use it to touch people’s hearts. We need faithful leaders in the next generation and the next. Support those institutions so that we will have places for our clergy to be trained. Be that blessing. Pass it on with food, shelter, clothes, and support wherever God leads you.
