Be light and bring salvation to others!

49:06 Isaiah “He says, "You will do more than restore the people of Israel to me. I will make you a light to the Gentiles, and you will bring my salvation to the ends of the earth.“ (NLT)

We see throughout the book of Isaiah the many statements about Christ’s coming and what we will do because of the love of Christ. We are to be the light of Christ just as He said that He is “the light of the world”. We are light when we see a need an help to fulfill it. We are light when we give to the poor. We are light when we share His Word with those who need comfort and hope. We are the light when we stand up against wrongdoers. Be the light of Christ each day and be blessed by it!

Copy this blog or the link to this message to pass along this verse to family, friends, and co-workers for His kingdom. Ask if they could walk through their house in the dark…absolute dark. Ask if they flip on a light switch automatically when entering a room. We need light to see. We need light to recognize what’s in front of us. That is what Christ does for us. He helps us to see what is ahead and to recognize opportunities to serve others in His name. Be the light today and always. Remember to Take Time For God’s Word© throughout your day to grow in faith and to be encouraged by His Word to YOU. As you flip on a light switch today (and each day), recall this verse and the many other verses which point to Jesus as “the light of the world”. Be mindful of the privilege that we have to be the light to others and to help them navigate through a dark and dangerous world. Even the smallest light can cut through the darkness. Be a bright light so that others can see Jesus in and through you!

Today we pray for all of those who are part of the prison system across our country… prisoners, guards, families, victims, etc. It is a sad reality that we have so many people who are now part of that system. It represents the consequences of sin in very real ways. Families are devastated. Victims are in recovery for years. And for many it means that hope is fading. Christ reminds us that we are to visit (and care for) the prisoners and their families. We are reminded that in Christ there is hope for all of us… from the thief on the cross to everyone who calls upon the name of Jesus. Be a blessing to someone impacted by crime. Stay blessed. Pass it on as the light of Christ and to show people the way to see Jesus!
