Christmas in September…why not?

9:06 Isaiah “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (NIV)

OK. The calendar says September but this verse in Isaiah foretold about the coming of Jesus hundreds of years in advance. People knew a Messiah would come. They expected a military leader or royal king. They got a baby in a manger in Bethlehem. It was exactly at the right time and in the right place in God’s plan. And Jesus did what no one else could do, He came to save us from our sins. That calls for celebration all year long!

You can send this verse family, friends, and co-workers in His kingdom by copying this blog or the link to this page. Ask if they know this verse from Christmas time. Ask when they heard it last. We can enjoy these verses and even Christmas songs all year long. His gift to us was the greatest present ever! Then, Take Time For God’s Word at 9:06 am or pm or as you begin to see Christmas items in stores, then think of this verse and the true meaning of Christmas. Save this as a photo on your phone. Put it with other Favorite verses. Look at them often during the week. You will enjoy a bit of the Christmas spirit early (and often) which is always fun. You may even catch yourself humming a Christmas song along the way. (It is OK, I do it all the time!)

Our prayers now go out to all of the judges at all levels of our judiciary system. These women and men have critical roles to play to assure that our system of justice is fair and equitable to all people. It takes special people with that level of compassion and discipline to hear various cases and render verdicts and sentencing. Thank them for their service. Be a blessing to them. Do your part if asked to serve on a jury. Stay blessed. Pass it on through sharing the Christmas message all year long!
