Have we become a pagan nation?

2:08 Isaiah “Their land is full of idols; they bow down to the work of their hands, to what their fingers have made.” (NIV)

Isaiah tells of the folly of the descendants of Jacob. They worshipped things that they made as idols. They turned away from God. They chose to worship the created… not the Creator. Have we done the same? Are our investments…careers… homes… cars… sports… politics… or others dominating our thoughts, time, and money. Do not let any of these ‘created’ things become an idol to you. Keep God first and foremost in your heart and mind!!

Please copy this blog post and the link to pass along this verse to family, friends and neighbors. Ask if they have one thing that is precious to them. Ask if that has become an idol to them as it dominates their thoughts and time. We often do that gradually. We think it is OK but when we really evaluate it, it is an idol taking us away from time with God. Return to Him! Then, Take Time For God’s Word at 2:08 am or pm or as you see any idols around you, then think of this verse. Save this into your Favorites photos on your phone. Keep it with other key Bible verses. Today our focused prayers are for all of the soup kitchens or food banks serving the needs of so many people. The hunger never goes away. They need food supplies constantly to provide for those who have so few other options. September is a month that we focus on hunger (Hunger Action Month) and sharing food with others. We send canned goods with our granddaughters who put it in bins at their elementary and middle schools. I want them to make giving a habit. I want them to feel the need to help others. Can you do the same? Give where you can. Support these causes as much as you are able. THANK YOU for all that you do! Stay blessed! Pass it on with a grateful heart and a giving spirit.
