Pray deeply and often!

26:44 Matthew “So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.” (NIV)

Jesus goes to the disciples a second time. They are sleeping again! He returns to pray a third time. Same request. Same submissive statement that “Thy will be done”. Sounds a bit like us. If we don’t get immediate action from God, we pray again… and again… and again. Sometimes, we ONLY turn to God when we are in trouble. Sometimes, our repeated prayers are meant to remind us that He will see us through the difficulty that we face. Sometimes, we don’t like the answers YET we know that God’s ways are not our ways. He has a plan. It is for the good of those who love Him. Submit to His plans for your life. And continue to pray… then pause to listen to His Word!

Copy this link or this blog post to give this verse to close friends and family. Ask if they feel as if their prayers are unanswered. Ask how often they pray for something but they don’t truly give it over to God. Remind them of Jesus prayers. He asked for something but ALWAYS submitted to God’s plan and God’s will for His life. AND, we have salvation because God followed through on that plan. Great answer!! Next, Take Time For God’s Word today and recall 26:44 when you pray often for the same request, then remember this verse. If you don’t have a ‘prayer journal’, then start one and put this verse near the top. As you pray for people or situations, write it down. As you get answers, check them off the list. You will see that God does answer prayers. Thank Him and praise Him for those answers… and for those yet to come!

We start each monthly prayer cycle with earnest prayers for all of the brave men and women in all branches of our military. We visited the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery last month. It was touching. It was somber to see all of those grave markers. It was a great reminder of the sacrifices which so many have made in service to our country and in protection of our freedoms. Please thank them. Help out their families if the service men or women are deployed. Show your appreciation for what they do. If you have served, THANK YOU deeply for that service! Stay blessed. Pass it on in humble service to one another!
