Good stewarding yields an abundance!

25:29 Matthew “For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.” (NIV)

In the parable of the Talents, the unfaithful servant did NOTHING with the money that was given to him to invest and steward for his master. That was then given to the one who now had 10 talents. This verse summarizes the principle that is shown in the parable. The message is quite clear. We are to be good and faithful as we steward (manage) the time, skills, and possessions which we have received. We are to invest them for things that matter to the kingdom of God. We are to care for them as God has entrusted them to us. I pray that you are already blessed with abundance and that you are sharing it faithfully with others!

Copy this link or this blog post and route this verse to close friends and family. Ask if they feel that this says ‘the rich get richer and the poor get poorer’. Ask why that principle does often hold true in many business settings. Remind them that while the parable talks about business, the lesson is meant to help us in all areas of our life. We are to be good stewards in everything. Continue to Take Time For God’s Word day-by-day and recall 25:29 as a reminder on effective stewardship. I like the visual illustration of abundance to be someone filling your cup and even though it is full, they just keep pouring it on. The extra amounts must go somewhere and you get to move the cup over the areas where the abundance gets poured. It shows that it often means that you aren’t getting less BUT others are getting more because of you having enough to share! Let your abundance splash on many others!

Our prayers go out to all of our elected officials at all levels of government. There are many elections coming up later this fall. We all need to exercise our right to vote. And once the vote is taken, we STILL need to pray for all of our elected officials. Pray that they seek guidance and help to govern effectively. Do your part to help in your communities. Let the love of Christ show through in all that you do. Be that blessing. Pass it on through sharing whatever abundance you may have and doing so with a glad heart!
