Hear ‘Well Done, good and faithful servant’…

25:21 Matthew “His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'” (NIV)

Jesus told the parable of the Talents to show what good servants and stewards do on behalf of their masters. You recall that one received 5 talents; one received 2 talents; and one received just 1 talent. Our verse was repeated for the servants who doubled the value of what was entrusted to them – from 5 talents to 10 talents and from 2 talents to 4 talents. It showed that both servants wanted to please their master and took seriously the responsibility to grow and increase what had been given to them to manage. So, how are you doing? Are you growing and increasing the ‘talents’ that God has entrusted to you? Seek to give a good report when asked what you did with what He gave you!

Please forward this verse to friends, neighbors, and family by copying the link or the blog post and emailing it to them. Ask if they feel they are effectively using all that they have. Ask what areas they feel need more attention to be used most effectively. Hear how they phase their efforts. Ask them questions. Work to understand their thinking. Share your ideas and insights to God’s Word with them. Encourage them to be a good steward of the gifts God has given to them. Then, Take Time For God’s Word often each day and recall 25:21 as a word of praise for good stewardship. The six words, “Well done, good and faithful servant!” are to me the highest praise any of us could ever achieve. To have God state that we have served Him well and faithfully… WOW! Keep aiming for that kind of stewardship attitude in your life… it is my aim in my life, too!

We pause today to pray for ALL of our family and friends. Name them in your prayers. Be specific about what you want for them… what you want God to do to bless them. We often just ask for blessings on ‘our friends’. This prayer makes it more meaningful as you say their names. They may need healing… hope… faithfulness… a job… a friend… or so many other things. Bring your requests to the throne of grace. Prayer changes things… it may even change you. Also, give thanks for those friends and family in your life. Don’t take them for granted. Talk to them. Tell them that you love them. We need to hear that. Bless them in this way! Pass it on through those you love and through those that they love, too!
