It is coming…just wait and see!

24:42 Matthew “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.” (NIV)

Jesus uses lots of illustrations about the abruptness of His coming again. It will not be when we expect it…that we do know. One will be taken and one will be left. It will happen just that quickly. So, we are advised to be watchful and to be ready at all times for His return. Now is the time to seek forgiveness. Now is the time to share His Word and His love with those that you love. Now is the time to help others spread the Gospel. Now is the time that we have… use it to further His kingdom.

Save this link or copy this blog post in order to route this verse to friends, family and neighbors. Ask if they are waiting for some special day or event. Ask them if they are prepared for it even now OR if they have tasks yet to perform to get ready. Let them know that one day Jesus will return and we all must be ready. There will be no additional time given to us. Tell them that is why we seek to know Him now so that we will be ready whenever He comes again. Then, also Take Time For God’s Word as you think of 24:42 as a verse to watch for. You may think of the numbers ‘24’ and the reverse ‘42’ to help recall it. You may think of it as you look at your ‘watch’ for the time. There are several ways to associate this verse and to recall it frequently. We are all one day closer to eternity each day! Watch for it!

We offer prayers for all of the youth outreach missions and ministries across our churches. It is exciting to see the youth return from these trips or gatherings. They have experienced a new level of giving… their time and talents in service to others. It is a great feeling but it is more than just a feeling. It is evidence that Christ’s love can work through them at their age to make a difference for others. They grow in faith by sharing their faith. It is contagious. They love to tell others about it. We pray that continues their whole life long. Ask them about their trip or project. Enjoy their excitement. Continue to encourage them. We all grow through those positive experiences. Pass it on with great enthusiasm (and with a smile).
