Practice your servanthood…

23:11 Matthew “The greatest among you will be your servant.” (NIV)

Jesus shares other warnings to the disciples about the Pharisees and those who seek personal honor, praise, and recognition. They seek the thanks, praise, and glory that should be given to God. Jesus reminds them of who they are and whose disciples they are. We should also take note. He re-emphasizes what He has stated before. It is just that crucial to them. He will later demonstrate it by washing their feet. He shows them what being a servant truly means. We should follow His example!

Give this verse to close friends and co-workers for His kingdom by copying this blog post or by sending them the link to this page. Ask if they have ever had the job of being a servant. Ask what they did and how that made them feel. Share with them any of your experiences in providing service to others. Build each other up in the faith and in the discipline of providing service to others. Then Take Time For God’s Word at 23:11 (11:11 pm) or as you think about any service you gave to others, recall this verse. This is a short verse… and it is all ones (11:11 pm in time). Copy it into your phone for 11:11 pm (23:11) for Sundays. It will be a great reminder to the start of your week. It will help you have a purpose for YOUR purpose in life. Share the joy and love and grace given to you by Jesus as you are serving others. They will never forget it!

We continue our prayers each month for all of the seminaries and places which are training the next generations of pastors, ministers, and missionaries for their service in God’s plan. We need to encourage our youth to consider the ministry. We need to support these institutions with our gifts. There is a growing shortage of staff to fill the vacancies in many of our churches today. It will grow even more in the future. Pray that God will provide for our needs in this area. Encourage those already in the ministry. Pray with them and for them by name. Thank them for their service. Be a great blessing to them! Pass it on to all whom you meet and be known as a great servant of Christ’s love.
