Have a change of heart for Him!

21:29 Matthew “'I will not,' he answered, but later he changed his mind and went.“ (NIV)

Pharisees tried to entrap Jesus with their questions. They failed. Jesus told this parable about a man with two sons. One says ‘no’ to the father’s request but has a change of heart and does what pleases the father. The other son says ‘yes’ but he does not go out and do the work he said he would. The one who had a change of heart is shown to be the ‘good son’. He repented of his words and then followed through with actions that were pleasing to his father. How about you? Which son best describes you and your work for the Lord? There is still time to change… the fields are still ripe with harvest. Good choice!!

You will want to copy this blog or the link to this post in order to pass along this verse to friends and co-workers for Christ. Ask them if they ever acted like one of the sons in the parable. Ask them which son and how that made them feel. We have all failed to act when God has called us at some point in our lives. Let us be more responsive going forward. Do as He asks! Then, Take Time For God’s Word at 21:29 (9:29 pm) and as you respond to a request, then remember this verse and the son’s choices. Some verses are really meant to trigger the message of a parable. It is meant to help us make better choices. It is meant to help us confront our problems that we don’t want to face. This verse does that. It reminds us to do what Jesus asks of us. There is still time. Take the time to go and do what He has asked of you! You will be blessed for it!

We lift up our prayers for all of the pastors, ministers, and lay leaders in our churches and fellowship groups. We expect them to always be there to hear our problems and issues, and they are. We also need to help them work through the challenges and problems that they find in doing God’s work. They still face many hardships and temptations. Support them. Help them. Show appreciation for all that they do. Be a blessing to them as they are a great blessing to so many others. Pass it on through a kind word and a sincere prayer for the ministry of others!
