Jesus causes a fig tree to wither because it was all leaves and no fruit. The disciples were shocked. Jesus again reminds them that with faith, they can truly move mountains. He summarizes it in our verse today. It should make us want more faith. It should give us new courage. It should make us more aware of what we pray for AND that it be requests that will bring God glory. God is too wise and loving to give us everything we simply ask for. He only gives us what will be best for us! Thank you, Lord!!
Send along this verse to family, friends, and co-workers for the kingdom in an email as you copy in this blog or the link to this post page. Ask them what was the biggest thing they ever prayed for. Ask them why that was so important to them. Let them know that God does answer our prayers but not always exactly in the way that we expect. We need the faith to see His response and to act on that gift. Please Take Time For God’s Word at 21:22 (9:22 pm) and as you check your prayer list, then think about this verse and what is truly most important for God’s purposes. This may be a verse that you print out and carry with you. It serves as a reminder. It reminds us to pray BIG prayers. It reminds us to deepen our faith. It reminds us to trust God completely for the answers. It tells us that God will bless us. It encourages us to live on purpose for His glory!
Please concentrate your prayers today on specific missionaries that you know who are at work for God’s kingdom. These may be people around the world or in the next town or city proclaiming the Good News. Each of us has the opportunity to share our story about how Christ changes everything when He comes into your life. That may be just the message others need to hear. Share it widely. Be a great supporter of all of our missionaries. Email them. Let them know that you pray for them. It will mean a LOT to them. Pass it on in a kind word or a simple act of love and kindness to others.
