Who is your highest authority?…

18:18 Matthew “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (NIV)

It seems that we all want to be close to those with power. Some think that is found in political leaders…or business leaders… or social icons. We know that the real power… the source of all power… comes from God. We can claim that power as His people and His church (the body of believers). When we do that, we can forbid the lies which the world proclaims and we can permit the clear message of the Gospel to be shared freely to others. We need to claim the power of God and to use that power to guide and direct our paths each day.

Please forward this verse to family, friends, and co-workers for the Gospel by sending the link to this post or by copying the blog and giving it to them. Ask if they have tried to forbid something or to permit something only to find that they did not have the authority to do so. Ask how that made them feel. Let them know that is why we seek to follow God’s plan and His commands. He has the ultimate authority. And that trusting Jesus is our only hope of salvation. Take Time For God’s Word at 18:18 (6:18 pm) and as someone rejects something that you do, remember this verse. Here’s another repeating number (18:18) for the verse. Maybe you think of a person at age 18 and what is forbidden or permitted with them as you consider the words ‘to bind on earth’ or ‘to loose on earth’. We all need to understand the authority of God and how we can fit into all the good that He has planned for us. Claim His authority as you boldly share His love through His Word.

Our monthly prayer focus is on those groups and organizations who help in the placement of refugee families in communities like the support from Exodus World Services (Itasca, IL). Once refugees are granted legal entrance into the USA, they need LOTS of help, love, support, mentoring, friendship, and more. Many churches help in that settlement effort. Many individuals make that their mission to help others in this way. Please help if you can. Support those who are making a difference. Stay blessed always. Pass it on by sharing His love by how you live and by all that you do in His name!
