Help others to feel welcome!…

18:05 Matthew “And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me." (NIV)

In the time that Jesus lived, children did not have many rights. So to include them as ones loved by God and so important to God, He got people’s attention. Jesus wanted people to know that all people are important to God. He wanted to remind the disciples that they were to welcome women and children to hear the Good News. He wants to remind us that we are to be welcoming to people new to our church, to our neighborhood, or to our home. We are to show them the love of Christ in all that we do!

Take a minute to copy this blog or the link to this blog post to send along this verse to friends and neighbors. Ask them who was the last person which they welcomed into their home. Ask them if they feel that their ‘welcome mat’ is always ready to welcome others. Let them know how you welcome others that you meet. Always Take Time For God’s Word at 18:05 (6:05 pm) and as you cross over a ‘welcome mat’ to enter a home, then remember this verse. You may want to save a photo of this verse card on your phone. It is good to see happy faces. It reminds us that all people what to find joy in life. We know that Jesus can provide lasting joy for those who know Him. Let us provide open arms to others as we invite them to come to know Jesus as Savior and Friend.

We pray for those organizations that provide for adoption services around the country like Evangelical Child and Family Agency (ECFA, Wheaton, IL). They are a welcoming organization. They help people who need solutions… loving solutions to some challenging problems. They are a blessing to families who may give up children for adoption and to families who are receiving children through adoption. Children are definitely welcomed there and are a blessing for all families. Support those that you know who have been touched through adoption. Be a blessing to them. Pass it on through open arms and open doors that welcome others into your life.
