Yes, it is all about who you know!

16:16 Matthew “Simon Peter answered, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” (NIV)

Peter speaks boldly. This time, he even gets it right. He catches a glimpse of who Jesus really is. He knows that Jesus is his only hope. He begins to see that Jesus is the only hope of the whole world. Then, Peter thinks that Jesus’ plans depend on him… he doesn’t yet understand that Peter’s plans ALL depend on Jesus. How about you? Are you still hoping that God will follow your plans? Or, are you earnestly seeking to follow His plans for you and for your life in Him. Let God be God… you will live through an awesome life if you do!

Make known this verse to family, friends and co-workers in His kingdom by copying this blog post or the link to it and sharing it with them. Ask if ‘facts’ we learned as kids all proved to be true. Ask if new information has changed them or even replaced them with better information. Share with them that the facts about Jesus are just as true now as they were when He walked on earth. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. That is something you can believe in! Then Take Time For God’s Word at 16:16 (4:16 pm) and as you think about Jesus, then recall this verse. This is a verse with a repeating number (16:16). If you can anchor it to the number 16, like sweet-16, teen years, basketball tournament, address, part of a phone number, birthday, etc. then whenever you think of 16, you can easily remember 16:16 and that “Jesus is the Son of the living God”. Like so many things in life, we remember them when they stand out… when they are exciting… when they impress you… OR when they save your life. This verse does all of that and MORE! Keep 16:16 close to your heart!

We pray for our hospitals and clinics. What a blessing they are. They help so many people every day that we take it for granted. We see the skills and treatments which we expect to be routine yet they have been developed and improved over years and years. God continues to use these institutions and the women and men who serve there to work miracles in healing people and in restoring them to health. Many of those are outreaches for churches called to serve the hurting and helpless. Show appreciation for their care. Volunteer to help there if you are able. THANK YOU if you work in one of those places. Be a blessing to all who seek help there. Pass it on by your small acts of love from the great heart of God!
