Everyone was fed…5000 men plus women and children. They were fed enough to be satisfied. There were even twelve baskets of leftovers… one for each disciple to see what faith can produce. We too often look at what we have and feel it is not enough. Instead, we should look at ALL that God has and know that it will be MORE than enough. It is a lesson we need to see often. It is a blessing that we need to seek throughout our lifetime. He always gives from His abundance… so that we can share it freely with others.
Please be sure to copy this blog or the link to it so that you can pass along this verse to friends on social media and on your email lists. Ask if this is a verse they have heard before. Ask if they remember how many were fed and how much food they started with. It is good to give them context about the extent of this miracle. Let them know that God is still feeding us through His Word. Best nourishment that we can get! Then, Take Time For God’s Word at 14:20 (2:20 pm) and as you finish a meal and are satisfied, then recall this verse. You can add this verse to the Action Item on your phone. You can label it ‘feeding the 5000’ to help remember the message. Expect to be fed life-saving verses from God’s Word. Then share them with others who also need a ‘life-saver’ in their lives. It is Good News that others want to hear.
We pray for all of the men and women who serve us in the police, firefighters, or emergency roles in our communities. I am always touched by the funeral services for those who have died in the line of duty. Thousands come to pay their respects. They know just how dangerous the job is and that every day they risk their lives. Give them your thanks and respect. Support their families. Be blessed to be a blessing to others. Pass it on with an ‘attitude-of-gratitude’ to all who serve us.
