Are your treasures secure?

6:19 Matthew “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.” (NIV)

We have finished the verses which are part of the Lord’s Prayer. Think of them often. We are now seeing other teachings by Jesus as He is trying to get us to see things differently than the rest of the world. He starts with our possessions. We think they are really ours. We spend a LOT of time and money protecting all the ‘stuff’ that we have accumulated. Soon, we don’t even have time to enjoy it… we are too afraid that someone may take it or damage it. That’s when the ‘stuff’ owns US and our TIME! Break free. Focus on His love as it is the only thing that will last forever!

Continue copy the blog or the link to this page in order to pass on this verse to your family, friends, and co-workers for the kingdom. Ask if they feel that their treasures are well protected. Ask how they would feel if they were all taken away. Remind them that there are no U-Hauls behind the hearses. When we die, we leave it ALL behind. All except our trust in God which will last forever! So, Take Time For God’s Word at 6:19 am or pm and as you are putting away more ‘stuff’, then remember this verse and pray that we treasure His Word more each day. You may want to print out this verse and the next one (6:20) for tomorrow. Put them by your most prized possession. Let it be a reminder that while you may use it and enjoy it, don’t let it become more important than your trust in God. He will never fail!!

Today we focus our prayers on all of those in hospice care whether in facilities or at home. We pray for the patients and all those who provide care for those in need. There are many wonderful and caring people who are help families during this very difficult time. Help support them. Call to talk. Call to listen. Be that kind of blessing to them. Pass it on with compassion for those in deepest need.
