Follow a great example of prayer.

6:09 Matthew "This, then, is how you should pray: "'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,” (NIV)

We know the start of these verses as The Lord’s Prayer. We likely know it by memory. Yet, we can now know where it is found in the book of Matthew. Reading it verse by verse also allows us to examine each part of the prayer and why it is so important to us as an example in our own prayers. We are to start by calling on the name of God and to acknowledge His sovereignty over all of creation. He is Holy. We can only approach God through our trust in Jesus. Focus on Him first in prayer!

Remember to forward the blog or the link to this verse to all your friends on social media. Ask if they know the Lord’s Prayer and that it is part of Matthew chapter 6. Ask if they hear it spoken very often where they live. Let them know the benefits of learning this prayer AND in using it as our model for our individual prayers. Share with them ways that you incorporate the Lord’s Prayer into your own worship activities. Let them know that you pray for them. Always Take Time For God’s Word at 6:09 am or pm and as you hear the Lord’s Prayer, then think of this verse which starts it. You may want to create a Note on your phone where you copy in all the verses of the Lord’s Prayer with that as the title. Then set it to begin at 6:09 pm. It will be a good reminder at dinner time or anytime during the day. Think of it often and pray it earnestly throughout your day!

We pray for all of our pastors, ministers, and lay leaders in our churches and fellowship groups. We need people who can dedicate their time and attention to watching over God’s people. We need them to help us grow deeper in our faith. We know that there are multiple demands on their time. So, take the time to help them and support them as best you can. This is critical for them and for the message of the Gospel. Stay blessed. Pass it on through your ongoing prayers and your encouragement to others.
