Welcome to the family of God!

5:45 Matthew “that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” (NIV)

It is our love and prayers in verse 5:44 which completes the sentence in verse 5:45… we then become children of our Father in heaven. We are part of the family of God. Yet, He reminds us that even with that special place in His family that He will still provide for those who do not yet know Him. He still sends the rain and the sunshine to all of the people on the earth. He is still calling to them to believe in Jesus and to be welcomed into His family.

Be sure to copy this blog or the link to this page in order to forward this verse to your family, friends, and co-workers for His kingdom. Ask if they feel that the Christians they know act as if the are part of a family. Ask how they feel that they are acting when not with fellow believers. Their observations my surprise you. Share your experiences as being part of God’s family. Let them know that there is always room for more believers. Help them to know Christ as their savior and friend. Always Take Time For God’s Word at 5:45 am or pm and as you think of your family, then remember this verse. You may want to print this verse card and put it on the refrigerator door as a reminder to you and to anyone in your house that YOU are a child of God. Emphasize to them that we are in the bigger ‘family of God’. What a great heritage…what a blessing now…what a great future!

Our prayer focus today is on all of the first responder type of organizations like the Red Cross and other relief agencies around the world. These people and their many volunteers go into serious situations to offer food, shelter, water, clothes, etc. to those in great need based on the type of disaster that they are experiencing. Volunteer if you can. Help where you can. Support their efforts and needs. Be a blessing to them. Pass it on through acts of love within the family of God and to ALL who need to know Him.
