Do you love…enough?

5:44 Matthew “But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,”(NIV)

Limits. Some are set for us. Others we set for ourselves. Think about who you pray for…family… some close friends… your church… even our country. Do you ever stop to think about praying for those who persecute you… those you think of as your enemy? That’s the ‘radical’ nature of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He removes limits (like death) from our reality. He gives us a new life and with that comes a new view… His view… on how we treat others. Try it… “love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” It will expand your faith and it will change your world!

We encourage you to copy the blog or the link and to pass along this verse to your all of your social media friends and to your email list. Ask if they remember hearing this verse about ‘love your enemies’. Ask what they thought about it and if they ever felt that they could do that themselves. Listen carefully to how they respond. This is NOT easy for most people to hear and to understand. It means that you take on the love of Christ into your life. It means that you love others like He loves us. Then Take Time For God’s Word at 5:44 am or pm and as you feel any persecution, then recall this verse and pray for those people. You may want to create an Action Item on your phone for 5:44 pm that says, ‘love your enemies’. Set it for every day so that you see it regularly. Repeat the verse when you see it pop up on your phone. Pray for those enemies at that time. It will soon change how you see them. You now hope that they will find the same salvation that you found in Christ. What a change that would be!!

Our prayers are for all of the women and men who serve us so well and so selflessly in our police, firefighters, EMTs, and other emergency services. They train a LOT so that they will be ready when called into action. While others run from danger, these people run into danger on our behalf risking their lives for ours. Thank them. Support them. Help their families. Share your blessings with them. Pass it on so that they can see the love of Christ in you!
