Let your light shine brightly!

5:14 Matthew “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” (NIV)

Have you ever been in total darkness? Maybe in a cave or in a house when the power is out everywhere? All you want is a light…even a match or a candle…just some light to cut through the darkness all around you. That also describes our world… in darkness… wanting for there to be a light to shine and to show them The Way. You are that light! Your words of hope and help and healing come from God’s Word to our world. Be the light and share the light with all those you meet!

Pass on this blog or the link to this verse to your family, friends, and co-workers for the kingdom. Ask if they have ever been in total darkness. Ask how they felt and ask what they experienced when a light was again lit. Share any of your experiences in moving from darkness to the light. Encourage each other be to the light of the world. Pray for each other. Pray for those who need to see the light and to accept Jesus as their savior and friend. Reach out to invite others to join you for an Easter service. Continue to Take Time For God’s Word at 5:14 am or pm and as you turn on a light switch (which is often), then remember this verse and your role as the light of the world. Print out this verse card and place it on your nightstand or kitchen table. Review it often. Take it to heart each day. Practice being the light. Have a verse or two ready in your mind to share with someone who asks why you are so cheerful or positive or upbeat. Let them know that Jesus loves them!

We offer our prayers for all of those who are experiencing extreme weather related challenges. We think of the MANY snows in the Northeast. We think of the rains and flooding in south Texas. We think of those still suffering from prior hurricanes, fires, or floods. Have compassion on those in need. Share where you can. Support those who are providing care to these people. Stay blessed where you are and be the light every day. Pass it on through a smile, a friendly greeting, and a hand of caring to those you meet today.
