Rejoice and be glad!

5:12 Matthew “Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” (NIV)

The summary of the Beatitudes tells us that even when we are persecuted, it will be the same as prior Christians have faced AND that we can rejoice and be glad in it. Be glad in suffering? YES, that is a mark of great faith and trust that God will see us through. We will not face the same sufferings that Job felt when he lost everything… yet, he would not give up on His faith in God. We need to hold onto our faith in tough times. Faith grows most when it is tested and proven to be strong!

Copy this blog or copy this link to give our last verse to your friends on social media and to those on your email lists. Ask if they ever have a sense of gladness during any of their sufferings. Ask what they think about most in those times of great need or great pain. Listen carefully. It may give you insights to where they are in their faith life. Be ready to share your story with them. Share the pains and questions. Then share the results that happened when you came to know Christ. They need to see that ALL of us came to a critical point before coming to Jesus. Ask if they want to join you at a Good Friday or Easter service. Always Take Time For God’s Word at 5:12 am or pm and as you feel glad or start rejoicing at Easter, then recall the meaning of this verse. Place this last verse in the Reminder of prior verses starting with the word “Blessed” on your phone. This is the tenth (and last) verse in the series. If you have been reviewing them daily, adding this one will be easy. Keep at it. Let them become part of your thoughts each day. God will touch your life through these words of hope and promise.

Today our prayers go out to all of the social causes around the world and as they can have an impact for the good of many people. There are food drives, clean water, safety, improved education, and so many more. It is often through these causes that we get an introduction to people of other beliefs and faiths. Let them see what you believe in the way that you conduct yourself. Be open and caring for them. Christ died for ALL people. We just want them to hear the Good News and to let that message of His love touch their hearts. You can do that. Be a great blessing! Pass it on in your daily tasks and through your arms of love.
