Are you merciful enough?…

5:07 Matthew “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” (NIV)

Mercy and Grace. Two powerful acts of God. Mercy is not being punished for things we have done and for which we deserve punishment. Grace is receiving good things and forgiveness which we do not deserve. Do people see Mercy and Grace in your life? Do you share the mercy you have received OR do you choose to refuse mercy to those in need. That is the power of this verse. Calling us to a higher standard. Showing mercy as we have seen God be merciful to us. Try it. Live it. Share it!

We encourage you to copy the blog or the link and to keep giving these verses to all your friends on social media and to those friends on your email list. Ask if anyone has shown them great mercy at any time in their life. Ask how that made them feel and what impact it had on them. See if you can tell if mercy changed them. Share with them the great mercy that God has shown to us all by sending Jesus to die for us. He gave us the perfect example. We need to show that kind of mercy to others. Take Time For God’s Word at 5:07 am or pm and as you see any acts of mercy in your life, then remember this verse. Copy this verse into the Reminder on your phone. This is the fifth verse in the series. Yet, it will take you less than a minute to recite all of them. It will be a powerful minute as these words will help shape your heart and mind for the day. Let His Words shape your life to be more like Him.

Please focus your prayers on all of our youth outreach programs and missions. This may be through programs like Awana (Carol Stream, IL) which focuses on youth Bible studies or through other ministries bringing our youth closer to Jesus. We need to offer activities which draw our children away from the temptations of the world and into a relationship with Jesus. These are very impressionable years. We need to help them to find the truth in the Gospel. We need to prepare them for life. We need to equip them to withstand the evils in our world. Pass it on through a powerful witness of love, joy and peace in Jesus!
