‘Immediately.’ ‘At once.’ ‘Straightway.’ These are the action words used in various translations to describe the disciples reaction to the call of Jesus. They made a decision. They then took quick action. They followed Jesus. How about you? Are you taking action? Are you putting Jesus first in your daily priorities? Are you leaving behind the temporary in favor of the eternal? It is not too late. Start today. Start now… immediately follow Him!
Be sure to copy this blog or send this link to close friends and co-workers in the faith. Ask how they responded when they heard the call of Jesus. Ask what were their first decisions or actions to that call. Tell them about how the call of Christ came to you. It is a story that you never get tired of telling. It is the story of salvation. Continue to Take Time For God’s Word at 4:20 am or pm and as you see nets of any kind (yes, even basketball nets), then remember this verse and the call to action. This may be a verse that you Save as a photo on your phone and put it in a Favorites album or a Verses album. I always scroll through those verses whenever I am waiting in line (which seems like that happens a lot). As a result, I am continually reminded of some great verses and of God’s great love for me. Try it (not the waiting in line part…just the review of the verses part)! What a terrific ‘pick-me-up’ anytime of the day!
Our prayers go out to all of those adoption agencies around the country like Evangelical Child and Family Agency (ECFA) (Wheaton, IL). www.evancfa.org. Adoption can take place at any age for both the children and the adoptive parents. I just met a couple who adopted two young boys AFTER the parents were past age 65. Wow! What a commitment. What a great love. And that was now 20 years ago. You could still see the great love in their eyes as they talked about the young men these boys had grown up to be. How about you? Do you have that kind of love? Encourage all those who do. Stay blessed in ALL that you do. Pass it on through your love and actions which show the great love of Christ.
