John the Baptizer sees the religious leaders. He questions their motives for coming out to see him. He challenges them with the six words in our verse. Those same six words challenge us today as well. The New Living Translation (NLT) states it as (3:8), “Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God.” This compels us to pay attention to how we act…to what we say…and to how we live. There should be a noticeable difference in the way we live. Is there? Do others see that difference? Don’t hide the blessings and joy that we have in Christ. Let is show. Let it shine. Be a light in darkness!
Copy this blog or copy the link to share this verse to close friends, family, and co-workers for the Gospel. Ask if they see fruit being produced through your words and actions. Ask if they try every day to show the love of Christ in word and deed. Encourage each other to be noticeably different… in words, in actions, in outreach, etc… from all of the other people. Then Take Time For God’s Word at 3:08 am or pm and as you see any fruit, then you think of this verse. Use this verse at 3:08 pm as a Reminder with the title of “Produce fruit”. It is only six words. Say it a few times and you will know it. Then comes the hard part… living it out consistently each and every day. That is our calling… that is our privilege… God will walk with you to do this!!
We pray for all of the doctors, nurses, PAs, etc. who provide us with the ongoing medical care that we need. As we grow older, it seems that two things are happening: 1) Doctors look really young, and 2) we seem to be seeing more doctors and seeing them more frequently. There is a shortage of doctors and nurses in most places in the USA. Be grateful for the ones you have. Tell them so. Let them know you pray for them. Be a blessing to them whenever you see them. Pass it on through the fruits of your actions and the light of your faith shining brightly.
