Grace…seasoned with salt!…

4:06 Colossians “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” (NIV)

“Seasoned with salt.” Just those words may cause your mouth to water just a bit. A little salt improves the taste…makes food more enjoyable…preserves food… adds flavor… and more. Our words are to be ‘full of grace’. It means spoken with love and care and concern for those with whom we are speaking. AND, we are to make them so appealing…so interesting… so desirable that they will want to hear more. They will want to hear more about Jesus. Only He will satisfy their deepest needs!

Our prayers today go out to all of those people in nursing homes or assisted living facilities…including residents, staff, and volunteers. It is tough to grow old. It is even tougher when you have limitations which prevent you from caring for yourself. It makes you dependent. It limits your choices. It can feel confining. Reach out to those you know in such places. Visit them. Call them. Let them know that they are loved. Thank them for all they did for you. Stay blessed to bless others. Pass it on in your words ‘seasoned with salt’ so that others can get a taste of the love of Christ for them.
