Do this! Don’t do that! It seems that our requests become commands or demands on our children. We don’t mean it that way but that’s what it sounds like to them. STOP! Take a breath. Take a moment to give them a hug or to say a kind word or compliment to them. Show appreciation for the many good things they do. Help them to understand why you are trying to help them in areas where they can improve. Above all, do it out of love for them. Let your love show. Love them as Christ has loved you!
Share this verse with all of your family, close friends, and co-workers in the kingdom. Ask if their fathers were ever commanding/ demanding on them. Ask how that made them feel and if that is how they are treating their children as a result. Tell them about our Heavenly Father and His great love for us. Share with them the role model that we have in Christ. Be an encourager to your children every day (regardless of their age). Always Take Time For God’s Word at 3:21 am or pm and as you see fathers loving their children, then recall this verse. 3-2-1 can be a count-down verse. Use it to count down before you make a harsh comment to your children (or to anyone). Words are powerful. Choose those which are encouraging, uplifting, supportive, loving, caring, and kind. Print out this verse put it in your pocket. When you see it often, it will become a new habit for you. A great habit to use whenever you are interacting with your family. What a blessing you will be as you love and encourage each of them!
Today we pray for specific missionaries that we know through our church or fellowship group. These people heard the call of God to ‘go’ and they went. What a leap of faith. What a great witness. What a great blessing they are to the people that they are serving in the name of Jesus Christ. Please support them. Encourage them. Write to them. Welcome them when they come home on a leave. Bless them as they bless so many others. Pass it on through those who are on the frontlines of sharing the Gospel…around the block or around the world.
