3:17 Colossians “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” (NIV)
“Whatever you do…” My parents would often say that as we left the house. It was followed by some thoughtful and loving message… a message that they wanted us to remember… a message that they wanted us to follow… a message that they wanted us to know for our safety… a message that should guide our behaviors and our actions towards others. I remember those words from them now 50+ years later all because they started with “whatever you do”. May these words from Paul to us also guide, guard, enrich, and enable us to live out our lives in Christ to the fullest possible measure. May they cause us to be a great blessing to all those that we meet. Go and be ‘whatever’ God has called you to be to His glory!!

I see it every morning. I read it every night. I think of it often. I challenge myself to live up to the meaning of this verse as I go about my day. Make this a Favorite photo on your phone. Make it a screen-saver or background photo. Make this a goal each day to show His love in word and deed in all the ‘whatever’ in your life. What a great life it will be… when we are truly living for Him!
