For the past nearly 9 years I had developed a new habit of passing along the US Presidential $1 coins to family and friends. (The US Mint issues 4 presidents per year for 10 years...but you must be a dead president to get your coin issued. Several are delighted to wait for theirs to be issued. We are up to #35 (JFK). Four more to be issued and then a 'pause' for the next one(s)). I would usually have several in my pocket and would even pass them on to strangers (usually parents with their kids) at local shops or eating places. It was fun to see their reactions. Free gift. No strings attached. Nothing they did to earn it. It was very rare to have someone reject it (only 7-8 people out thousands given out). Their reactions created some great memories and some great stories. Then there is giving to the needy charities around the world. Like you, I can only give to a limited number. Just those who align to my heart and calling. It is like it says in 15:10 Deuteronomy "Give generously to the poor, not grudgingly, for the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do". (NLT) It is fun to give. It says that we trust God for our future and we show our love for others by doing what we can for them... often through others. As you Take Time for God's Word each day, remember those verses that remind you to 'give'. It really is the best way to enjoy real living as well.
