The women who saw the empty tomb ran to tell the disciples the Good News. The guards from the tomb also ran to tell the Pharisees and chief priests what had actually happened. They paid the guards to change their story. They said the body was stolen. They lied to try to suppress the truth. Their ‘fake story’ did NOT stop the truth about the resurrection from being told and retold for more than 2000 years. We must continue to tell the truth about Christ’s resurrection to our generation and the next and the next. It is a truth that will last into eternity!
You can give this message to friends and family by copying this blog or the link to this page. Ask if they have ever heard that Jesus body was stolen by His disciples. Ask if that has ever come up in their conversations. We need to realize that others continue to try to discredit the Gospel by pointing out the failures of some Christian leaders. Our faith is in Jesus Christ. He does not fail. He can only be associated with the truth. Remember that as you Take Time For God’s Word throughout the day. As you hear stories which are contrary to the truth, recognize that Satan is the ‘father of lies’. Stay close to God’s Word and you will stay close to the truth.
Our prayers now focus on all of the Christians across all public colleges and universities. While we would expect that these institutions would promote the free exchange of ideas, it is often just the opposite. They support only those ideas and ideals which they aspire to. That often means that Christians are treated unfairly or are bullied about their faith. It is a real test of faith for many young Christians. Reach out to them. Encourage them. Support them. Stand up for our rights to worship God and to proclaim the love of Christ to others. Stay blessed in this spiritual battle. Pass it on by sharing the truth about Christ’s resurrection!
